- Controller IDs have to be different as well as drive IDs. The A3000 can
- configure the controller ID, for one example. The problems he will have are not
- related to termination power or any of that other stuff as long as he maintains
- his SCSI bus termination profile correctly. He had best make the partition he
- uses between the two drives be very small. That way when he crashes its
- filesystem he can repair it with minimal loss. And I can almost guarantee he
- will crash the filesystem, or at least get it so gnarled up it is of
- questionable value to him.
-
- After every write from one computer it is *ABSOLUTELY MANDITORY* that he perform
- a "diskchange" on that partition on the other machine. Otherwise his results
- will be "unpredictable" on reads and disastrous on writes because the bitmaps
- are unsynchronized. It is more pain than it is worth. I'd recommend something
- like AmiTCP with the plip.device driver for a parallel to parallel interface or
- "dnet" for serial. These options are a LOT safer.
